"An Uncomfortable Place" is a collaborative project by journalist Jonathan Littell and photographer Antoine d'Agata about Babyn Yar, historical memory, and Russian war crimes in Ukraine in the 2000s. The manuscript was completed two days before Russia's invasion of Ukraine.

In November 2022, Littell revisited the text to rewrite it in light of the new reality, which included the events in Bucha, the occupation of Mariupol, and the daily revelations of new crimes committed by Russian forces in Ukraine.
