The book explores the problem of power and consistently establishes a universal procedure underlying it, allowing it to be noticed in various contexts. The theoretical framework used here is the problem of the body, which has historically accompanied all discourses on power, considering it from a critical perspective.

This interdisciplinary research is conducted on extensive historical, aesthetic, and theoretical material, including sources previously unknown in the Russian-speaking space or never considered from the proposed positions.

Events of socio-political history and their artistic reflection in cinema, prose, and poetry, medieval theology and protest movements, religious sectarianism and gender theory, counterculture and decolonial perspective, the existential status of animals, and the trajectory of scientific and technological progress — all these form the horizon in which the philosophical concept of the book "Power and Body" is constructed.

The book is based on Maria Rakhmaninova's doctoral dissertation, "From the Epistemology of Power to the Ontology of the Body: A Socio-Philosophical Analysis."
