Alexei Navalny began writing this book in 2020 after being poisoned by Novichok. Most of the text was completed during his rehabilitation in Germany. After returning to Russia and being arrested, Navalny continued to write down his memories and kept prison diaries until he was completely deprived of the right to correspond. On February 16, 2024, Alexei Navalny was killed.
